If you would rather stick to a pool, you can visit the fantastic Summerleaze outdoor swimming pool which is free to use, or for those of you who like a warmer approach, try Bude’s Splashpool. It has lots of exciting features such as a wave machine and flume.

Rowing
Here in Bude we are blessed with a wonderful canal in the centre of town, which is best appreciated by boat. At Lower Wharf you can hire your own boat or pedalo and row down the length of the canal at your leisure, whilst enjoying the beautiful surrounding scenery. They're perfect for family days out during your holiday, and also if it's just the two of you. You could even take some champagne and strawberries along to enjoy!

Cycling
There are plenty of places within the surrounding area which offer bike hire, including Bude Bike Hire and Bridge Bike Hire Wadebridge. A popular cycle path is The Camel Trail which is a 5 mile, flat route from Wadebridge to Padstow. For a longer ride you can start in Padstow and cycle to Bodmin and back or head to The Tarka Trail where there is over 30 miles available to cyclists over the old railways of North Devon.

Helicopter Rides
A really thrilling activity to enjoy on your holiday is a helicopter trip from Bideford to Lundy Island. Take your chance to see more of beautiful Cornwall from somewhere most others won't get the chance, the sky! The island is a peaceful and unspoilt place which is never crowded, even in the height of summer. You can take in the tremendous views of sea and mainland. A truly unforgettable experience.

Fancy horse-riding during your stay? Broomhill Manor Stables is a fun and friendly riding stables on the outskirts of Bude. Visitors of all ages and abilities are welcome to go along and have a go. Trained instructors can provide one-to-one lessons or take you on a group ride. For the more experienced rider, you may book a two hour cliff ride which is available by prior arrangement.

Both centres offer plenty of fun and challenging activities such as coasteering, kayaking, canoeing, abseiling and rock climbing. They both operate to the highest of standards and can cater for groups or individuals.

The keen fisherman will be spoilt for choice whilst staying in Bude. There are three lakes in the surrounding area which offer coarse fishing; Lower Lynstone, Lower Tamar and Whalesborough. Fly fishing is available at Roadford Lake and to enquire about Sea Fishing, head to Bude Tourist Information Centre who will be able to advise you.
